CHARLOTTE, NC – The public will have an opportunity to honor the late Rev. Billy Graham on Monday & Tuesday of this week at the Graham Family Homeplace, located next to the Billy Graham Library in SW Charlotte. His body will lie in repose in a closed casket.
The public is invited on Monday, Feb. 26 and Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 8 am – 10 pm.
The Graham Family Homeplace is where Billy Graham lived as a teenager in Charlotte. The house was built in 1927 by Graham’s father, William Franklin Graham, Sr. , on the family’s dairy farm on Park Rd., a few miles south of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association headquarters. It was moved to it’s current location next to the Billy Graham Library in 2006.
Because of parking constraints at the Billy Graham headquarters, guests paying their respects are asked to park at one of the following off-site locations, where buses will shuttle them to and from the Graham Family Homeplace:
- Operation Christmas Child Processing Center @ 7100 Forest Point Blvd. Charlotte, NC
- Charlotte Business Valet, Lot 2 (self-parking) @ 5613 Wilkinson Blvd. Charlotte, NC
The shuttles will transport guests to the front of the Graham Family Homeplace and return them to the off-site parking areas.
The parking & shuttle is FREE and will operate from 7:30 am until 9:30 pm.
The family asks that you allow extra time to accommodate long lines. Guests are asked not to take photos, video, or audio recordings inside the Library and Homeplace.
