CMPD officer faces drug charges


CHARLOTTE, NC –  A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer has been arrested after an investigation revealed that she obtained prescription opioids by fraud.

Jennifer Wolfe, 37, was charged with five counts of Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud. She was taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail and given a $15,000 bond. Wolfe was assigned to the Metro Division of the police department.

CMPD began investigating in mid August after receiving a call from an employee of Danze Denistry in Matthews, regarding the incident. The investigation revealed that Wolfe obtained the prescription medication from an employee at the dental practice.

The employee, Roberta Porter, was also charged by Matthews Police. This was a joint investigation by CMPD and Matthews Police.

Wolfe is currently on unpaid administrative leave.
