Shelter for Irma evacuees opening Saturday

CHARLOTTE, NC –  The City of Charlotte in partnership with The American Red Cross and Town of Huntersville are opening a shelter for out-of-state Hurricane Irma evacuees today starting at 5 pm.

The shelter will be located at the old J.M Alexander Middle School located at 12201 Hambright Rd. in Huntersville.  The shelter will be equipped to accommodate those with special needs, as well as those with pets.  Be sure to spread the word to anyone from out of state seeking shelter.

The agencies below are also contributing to the operation of the emergency shelter.
